Because all New Yorkers

deserve a good doctor.

From the Bronx to Staten Island, we all want to be able to take our loved ones to a doctor when they get sick.

And when our insurance has lapsed or we don’t have the right documents in order, we can always count on the doctors at Health and Hospitals Corporation of New York. At Elmhurst, Kings County and hundreds of other locations across NYC, H+H doctors do not discriminate.  They treat all patients, regardless of the neighborhood we live in or what we can afford to pay.

Now these public hospitals on the frontlines keeping all of New Yorkers healthy are under threat from Mayor Adams draconian budget cuts.  After saving countless lives during the pandemic, the doctors who serve all of us are facing a manufactured crisis from a heartless administration.

Without adequate funding, there will be no way to replace retiring doctors and retain active doctors who are seeing more and more patients with less and less time.  Whole departments may face closure without doctors staffing them leaving New Yorkers with fewer and fewer healthcare options.

“I have worked at xxx hospital for over xxx years.   I see xxx patients with diabetes every day. My dialysis patients rely on our care because they literally have no where else to go. If we can’t recruit more doctors, I’m not sure what will happen.”
