  • Background

    We are the 2,800 doctors working in NYC H+H facilities and the mayoral agencies, which make up the largest municipal public healthcare system in the United States. We are dedicated to promoting and protecting the health, welfare, and safety of all New Yorkers. We believe that high quality healthcare should be accessible to all, no matter one’s status or ability to pay.

    The city has created a crisis of recruitment and retention for dedicated and talented doctors devoted to this mission by under-investing in our healthcare system. They have compromised the quality of care that New York City patients desperately need and deserve.

    We have been bargaining with H+H, its affiliate employers and the City of New York since fall of 2023. Our contract proposals will allow us to recruit and retain a dedicated workforce of talented doctors, and demonstrate that the city respects its frontline providers - and its citizens that we care for.

    We are calling on Mayor Adams, H+H and its affiliate employers, and the City of New York to fund our hospitals and mayoral agencies. We need a FAIR CONTRACT NOW so that we can fix this crisis and focus on caring for our patients and the communities we serve.
